How'd you get into TW?

For me. and for Boss, we both sorta of discovered it by accident. We had our first time with qspy and with threewave CTF. We were both at my parent's house on modem, and logged into what we thought was another CTF server, but it started to download all kinds of files.

When the downloading was done, we were blown away with the flag quality over CTF. It was all downhill from there for me anyway.

Around the time the 586 processors we had, (I think), 5 computers in our basement. My friends used to come over and we would play doom/duke nukem etc... So naturally when Quake came out I hopped online and started to tear things up. Watched the CTF mods closely and grabbed TW as soon as it caught my eye.

I liked it better than 3wave because of the fast pace, (and harpoon)

I can't even remember. I started with shareware net quake deathmatch, then full net quake dm, then quakeworld dm, and right about then I got TW. I never played threewave for more than a few minutes I don't think.

I remember Origen (clan Aster) bought Quake on my dorm floor and I followed suit.

To bad we didn't have broadband in dorms then.

Freshmen year of college. Tick[TA] introduced to me when he fixed my POS comp... my hall created clan TA and I never looked back hehe.

Short story turned long, My brothers friend (Tobar[RaV]) showed us Doom 2 and i was blown away. Played it for hours and hours then showed us Doom 2 DM and we connected to each other on our 14.4 dial up and played DM and co-op. Then about 6 months later he brought over the demo of Quake on 7 floppies and i was hooked because of the way it looked. Then some how i got the full version with CTF and would play DM and CTF for hours vrs bots on my machine. I remember playing with qspy once or twice and getting into DM servers but playing with a 14.4 wasn't any fun. Then I downloaded QuakeWorld and got introduced to pushlatency and all i did was DM and CTF..

I accidently joined a TWCTF server thinking it was normal CTF and didn't like it at all. I thought the lazer gun and air fist were cheesy but i liked the runes. I went back to DM and CTF and met Leader who wanted me to play Team Fortress for his clan (KLP) but it bored me and i usually just played ctf and dm for fun then met Digital Alloy who wanted to play TWCTF with me so we started playing and i got hooked. Then Leader and I quit KLP and created RaVage 11 years and 6 days ago. We thought we had an idea of how to play until we played our first organized scrimage against (C-D) on TWCTF1 and got our asses handed to us. We learned more in those first 5 minutes of playing then we had learned in about 2 months of just playing random games online. Then we got organized and focused.

well, no clue how my dad found out about twctf ... but pretty much i was about 12 years old and watched him play for weeks maybe months before i decided to give it a shot...i learned all the maps without even playing them and eventually caught on and learned the ropes

Was a big Quake fan. My dad got into TW and formed his own clan, so I naturally joined. Played off and on for years. I love TW!

I'm fairly certain that I stumbled upon a server while playing QW Death Match. I had played single player Wolfenstein and the Doom 1/2 prior to going online with Quake.

On a side note: Whiplash! How are you man? How long has it been?
